Sustainability is in Our DNA

UN1F1ED2 Global Packaging Group (UGPG2) is a joint venture between Rand-Whitney Packaging LLC, a Kraft Group company and AGlobal Solutions (AGS). Specializing in testing, manufacturing and distribution of custom protective packaging, we serve industries like automotive, healthcare, technology, and aerospace. Our customer-centric approach drives us to deliver innovative, high-quality, and sustainable packaging solutions that meet and exceed expectations.

We are deeply committed to sustainability and responsible operations, engaging with our stakeholders to understand their needs and expectations. This enables us to prioritize efforts that reduce our environmental and social impact, ensuring long-term success for us, our customers and our communities.

Over the years, we’ve implemented various sustainability initiatives, both internally and in support of our customers. Recently, we’ve defined our "3P’s Approach to Sustainability," focusing on the key areas where we can make the greatest impact on our stakeholders and corporate performance. Built on scientific principles, this approach strengthens our organizational capabilities to meet the evolving expectations of customers in the packaging industry. Our efforts will focus on three key clusters: Purpose-fit Packaging, Partnerships for Innovation and People UN1F1ED2.

EcoVadis Bronze Medal:

Continuous and effective management of sustainability practices is critical to our business and society. We leverage EcoVadis, a global leader in business sustainability assessments, to rate our performance, identify risks and understand where we can improve and make a bigger impact across the world.

In our latest rating, which we completed in February 2025, we earned a bronze medal and scored a 62/100, which places UGPG2 in the top 72nd percentile globally and demonstrates our progress toward sustainability.

Our Approach: Progressing Beyond Packaging

Our 3Ps approach to sustainability is science-based and designed to strengthen our capabilities across the organization, enhancing our ability to meet evolving packaging expectations.

Purpose-fit Packaging:

UGPG2 efforts to quantify and reduce the environmental impacts of our operations and packaging throughout their life cycle.

  • We are committed to reducing our Scope 1 and Scope 2 greenhouse gas emissions by 42% by 2034, from a 2024 baseline, using a science-based approach to support global climate action.
  • We are integrating circular economy principles into our operations by re-granulating foam scrap with advanced technologies like our pelletizer and densifier, returning it to suppliers for reuse in engineered foam. This closed-loop process reduces waste, conserves resources, creates economic opportunities, and drives innovation.
  • We produce molded fiber products manufactured from post-industrial corrugated and newspaper.
  • We help customers optimize packaging by assessing opportunities, designing, and testing solutions for guaranteed performance. Additionally, we use life cycle assessments (LCA) to evaluate the environmental trade-offs of optimized designs.

Partnerships for Innovation:

UGPG2 efforts aimed at collaborating up- and down-stream to identify innovative processes and ways to reduce our packaging’s impact, test new materials and drive circularity.

  • To drive innovation and reduce the impact of our packaging, we’re building strong partnerships across our value chain. Our expertise in packaging and advanced testing capabilities ensure that new alternatives meet or surpass existing performance standards.
  • Our active initiatives include a partnership with Cruz Foam to provide sustainable protective packaging and custom cold chain solutions. Cruz Foam is a circular materials company that creates earth-digestible packaging products, offering an alternative to single-use plastics.
  • Through the Kraft Group, we have a strong academia-industry collaboration with the MIT Climate and Sustainability Consortium, which supports UGPG2 in the implementation of large-scale solutions to address climate and sustainability challenges. In addition to this collaboration, we have a diverse group of consultants who bring specialized expertise and support to our sustainability initiatives, helping us drive impactful, forward-thinking strategies.

People Unified:

UGPG2 efforts to provide an inclusive, fair and fulfilling work environment for our employees and to strengthen ties with the communities in which we operate.

  • We believe that fostering a fair and fulfilling work environment is key to achieving our vision and mission. We take pride in our robust Health & Safety program – Our HQ in Sutton, MA has earned the SHARP Certification by exceeding OSHA standards.
  • We prioritize employee well-being by offering a range of benefits, including an on-site gym, newly built pickleball courts and behavioral health support services.
  • We focus on building symbiotic relationships with our communities because we understand that unified, we are stronger. We make our daily surplus wood available for community members to take and repurpose in ways that support their families. In return, we reduce waste and lower our operational costs—benefiting both the community and our business.
